Happy Pi Day! (3/14). Today only, Kroger will have their 8 inch pies on sale for $3.14!
Also, you’re in Knoxville, both locations of Buttermilk Sly Pie Shop (Turkey Creek & Bearden) will have their mini pies on sale for $3.14, plus when you purchase 4 you’ll get the 5th pie free! We purchased the Groupon I posted about a few weeks ago, so we’ll be heading to Buttermilk Sky to use that.
Have a wonderful Pi Day!

Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop has a Groupon available: $12 for $20 to spend on delicious pie! There are two locations participating: the one in Bearden, and the one in West Hills. We visit Buttermilk Sky with my kids to celebrate Pi Day each year on March 14 (3.14, get it?) and we are excited to save a little on the pies we’re planning to purchase! Go here to get this Groupon before it disappears!

McAlister’s Deli in Alcoa is celebrating the grand re-opening of its restaurant today! (Friday, Jan. 20.) The first 25 guests in line will receive a McAlister’s Tumbler and holiday Tea Glass Sweater. The restaurant will officially open at 10:15 a.m., I believe, although there will probably be a line out front. Here’s a photo of the tea sweater:
The nice thing about McAlister’s tumblers is that when you bring it with you to eat you can fill it with tea for just $0.99!

The Vienna Coffee House Players will be doing their fourth annual production of A Christmas Carol at Vienna on Thursday, December 8th at 7 pm. The version that will be used is based on the 1939 radio theater script used by Orson Welles on his program Mercury Theater. Local musician Bill Cabage (of Pistol Creek Catch of the Day) will be playing Christmas music before the production. Don’t miss this exciting rendition of this much loved story!

In addition, Salon Azure will be donating 10% of all service, retail and gift certificate sales to the Gatlinburg community to help them cope and recover from the recent devastating fire.
