On the eve of St. Nicholas Day 2018…
Tomorrow is St. Nicholas Day! Don’t forget to have your children leave their shoes out by the door so St. Nick can fill them with presents and goodies tonight!
If I could go back in time, we would solely do Santa gifts on December 6 and save the 25th for family gifts and celebrating Christ’s birth. But, my daughters absolutely won’t consider it now, as they are delighted about playing “the Santa game” on the 24th with their baby brother.
If you’re looking to introduce St. Nick into your family traditions, here are some past posts on books and resources I recommend:
- My favorite is “The Secret of St. Nicholas,” written by the mother of my dear friend Emily Nibali. Read more about that book here.
- Here’s info on other books my family has enjoyed, as well as the fantastic DVD “Why Do We Call it Christmas” by Phil Vischer of Veggietales.
We also purchased the cute St. Nicholas felt doll and Ostheimer figure from Bella Luna Toys, here!
Hope you have a wonderful Advent season!

I just got a notification that the Julia Rothman Collection is 56% off, which is lower than it’s ever been! This set includes Farm Anatomy, Nature Anatomy, and Food Anatomy, which are some of my oldest daughter’s favorite books. This collection also includes some gorgeous posters! I cannot recommend it highly enough!! Even though we own this set, at this price I’m considering getting extras for presents! Go here to purchase!
