Free stories for Halloween from Sparkle Stories

We have always enjoyed listening to the Martin & Sylvia stories from Sparkle Stories. They’re very relaxed, day-in-the-life stories of a brother and sister pair. The Sparkle Stories blog is a great place to find FREE stories, as well as the iTunes podcast (which is what we use). They are releasing 10 free Halloween stories on October 27, and if you’d like to receive those, you can find more information here.

We have only listened to the Martin & Sylvia stories, but there are other series too. Also, like anything, please listen first to make sure the stories are a good fit for your family.

Giveaway: Win one of two sets of tickets to the Junior League of Knoxville’s Tinsel & Treasure October 20-22

I am proud to be a Sustaining Member of the Junior League of Knoxville. I joined the Junior League in 2002, and have thoroughly enjoyed my League experience. One of the fun events I’ve always enjoyed is the annual Tinsel & Treasure Holiday Market. It’s a great place to find unique Christmas gifts!

This year’s Tinsel & Treasure will be held at Rothchild Catering and Conference Center in West Knoxville. Shopping days are Friday, October 20th, 2017 from 9 AM-6 PM, Saturday, October 21st from 10 AM-6 PM and Sunday, October 22nd from 12-5 PM. You can purchase your tickets here. Tickets are also available at the door, and children 12 and under are free.

You can get more information on the Facebook event here.

I have two Tinsel & Treasure tickets to give away! The giveaway is taking place on the Thrifty Christy Facebook page here.

Giveaway: win 2 passes to the 18th Century Trade Faire at Fort Loudoun October 21 – 22

One of our favorite events we attend together as a family each year is the 18th Century Trade Faire at Fort Loudoun in Vonore. This year the Trade Faire will be October 21 & 22, which should make for perfect weather for this fun event! The hours for the faire will remain the same as past years, with the gates opening to the public at 10:00 a.m. for both days, and the grounds remaining open until 5:00 p.m.

Make sure you bring cash to the Trade Faire, as there are lots of booths with great merchandise!

There are also lots of different performers and demonstrations, including many people in period costume. This is a great event for kids and adults alike!

Admission costs for the event are as follows:

18th century Trade Faire at Fort Loudoun
$10 – Adults (13 and up)
Children 12 and under admitted free

For more info on the 18th Century Trade Faire, you can visit the Fort Loudoun Facebook page here.

The generous folks at Fort Loudoun have a set of two free tickets to the Trade Faire to give away to one of you! That giveaway is taking place on the Thrifty Christy Facebook page here. Make sure you RSVP to the Facebook event here!

This giveaway ends at midnight EST on Friday, October 6. I will choose a winner on Saturday, October 7 using random.org and will contact him or her via email. Giveaway open to US readers only.
