AMC Summer Movie Schedule – possibly at our AMC Foothills 12 movie theater?
AMC Theatres has announced its 2017 Summer Movie Camp lineup, available at AMC Classic theater locations. Since our Foothills Mall movie theater is now “AMC Foothills 12” they may be participating…but I haven’t been able to confirm that yet. Since Foothills is not titled as a “Classic” theater, they may not be participating in any summer movie promotions. This is going to take a little more detective work on my part. Please contact the movie theater directly to be sure Foothills is participating before you head out with your kids next week! If not, the Knoxville AMC Classic Knoxville 16 at 200 North Peters Road will definitely be offering Summer Movie Camp, and you can see their schedule here.
As part of Summer Movie Camp, AMC theatres offer $4 admission, which includes a ticket and a Kidspack with popcorn, fountain drink and FrootiTooti fruit snacks.
The summer movie camp lineup features:
- THE LORAX
- TROLLS
- THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS
- HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON
- PUP STAR
- SING
- HOME
- DESPICABLE ME
- THE PEANUTS MOVIE

Probiotic sale at Grove Collaborative (a company I love)
Grove Collaborative (a company I love; used to be ePantry) is having a huge sale on Lovebug Probiotics. You can get 30% off on everything, plus if you’re new to Grove, you can go here to get a free $10 to spend! (aff link)
Grove is also my favorite place to purchase Mrs. Meyers cleaning products, especially their had soaps. Some of the best scents are seasonal; try the Peony in the spring or the Apple Cider in the fall. My favorite all-around scent is their Lavender!

Biltmore summer deals: free admission for kids and a discount for Father’s Day
The Biltmore is offering a summer special where kids 16 and younger are admitted to the estate for the day for free (with ticketed adult). This special runs May 26 through Labor Day, Sept. 4. Also, on Father’s Day, dads can get a ticket for just $25 with the purchase of another adult or youth ticket. You also save on tickets when you purchase them a week or more in advance. You can buy tickets in advance at biltmore.com, or by phone at 800-411-3812.
Have you ever taken kids to the Biltmore? There are lots of fun things to do in addition to the main house tour! Here are some ideas, courtesy of Piedmont Parent:
- From the Kids Audio Tour of Biltmore House to the Biltmore Treasure Hunt, younger guests can see the Vanderbilts’ grand home from a different perspective designed to entertain. Kids of all ages will want to check out Antler Hill Barn and Farmyard, with blacksmithing and woodworking demos and friendly animals to cuddle.
- See the new displays in Antler Hill Village. George Vanderbilt’s railway travels are highlighted in a 250-foot long model train display featuring landmarks from Vanderbilt’s international travels. A construction team with Applied Imagination handcrafts architectural elements using leaves, twigs and natural materials. Five model trains run along five track loops, passing by miniature versions of the Biltmore Rail Depot, the USS Vanderbilt Steamship, Eiffel Tower, Arc De Triomphe, London Bridge, and more. An intricate model of Biltmore House and other estate buildings created from thousands of Lego blocks will be on display at the Wine Shop in the Winery and Village Hotel on Biltmore Estate.
- All ages will enjoy a stroll through Biltmore’s magnificent gardens, which erupt in bright colors each summer, with towering tropical foliage, flowers that attract both butterflies and hummingbirds, and the heady scent of the historic rose garden. Take a hike to the Bass Pond, and beyond that, a gentle waterfall.
- Antler Hill Village & Winery comes alive on weekend evenings when Live After Five takes place. Live music on the Village Green features jazz and pop. A kids’ Grape Stomp is held nearby, and casual food choices are available for purchase.
- Take a horseback ride. In addition to hikes and strolls, guests may ride horses along trails with views of Biltmore House. Some of the trails are the exact ones traveled by George and Edith Vanderbilt, and their daughter Cornelia, when they lived on the estate.
Thanks to Lelia for sharing, and to Piedmont Parent for the fun ideas!
