Southern Living Etiquette tip #252: maintain a well-stocked gift closet

May 15, 2014

Southern Living is my very favorite magazine, and I love to see all the articles they post online as well. They’re sort of the unofficial source of all things fabulous in the South. (Disclosure: I once worked for their parent company, Southern Progress. Which was also fabulous.)

So when I saw that in their current online series of Southern charm and etiquette tips they endorsed having a well-stocked gift closet, I had to share that info with you all. Apparently not only is having a gift closet a great way to save money on presents, it’s proper etiquette as well! Now, I don’t necessarily endorse purchasing their suggested gifts. (Frye boots for babies? Not happening in my world.) But it is nice to see them sharing this great time- and money-saving idea! If you have a well-stocked gift closet, then you can not only afford nicer presents, but you can still personalize gifts: you just “shop” from your closet instead of shopping at the store!

You can read the full article from Southern Living here.
