Review and giveaway: “Guess How Much I Love You: Friendship Adventures.”

February 7, 2014

UPDATE: The winners are #1 Julie P., #71 Rachel H., and #160 Ashley C. Thanks to all who entered!

My family recently had the chance to watch Guess How Much I Love You: Friendship Adventures, which is the second DVD in the animated series from Disney Junior. (Here’s my review of the first DVD). While the first DVD had a winter theme, this one features springtime stories. My daughters, ages 6 and 4, just loved this DVD. It’s the sweetest, most innocent cartoon about a family of bunnies and their woodland friends. There is so much in this world that is not innocent and is targeted at my kids; I am wholeheartedly okay with their watching and enjoying the sweet little adventures of  Little Nutbrown Hare and his father.

This series is, of course, based on the classic books written by Sam McBratney and illustrated by Anita Jeram. I remember my mother, who is an educator, remarking once that she really valued Guess How Much I Love You because while so many children’s books involved mothers, this one involved a very present and loving father, which she felt was a good example for kids.

Here’s the official DVD description:

From the importance of friendship to embracing differences in one another, young home viewers will learn valuable life lessons — and have fun doing it – in the whimsical, all-new DVD from Entertainment One, GUESS HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU: FRIENDSHIP ADVENTURES

Across seven charming, colorfully-animated episodes inspired by Sam McBratney’s best-selling book and produced by Australia’s SLR Productions, join Little Nutbrown hare, his father and all his forest friends – fun-loving Field Mouse, mischievous Little Grey Squirrl, tricky Little Redwood Fox and Little White Owl — as they explore the grassy fields, mossy forests, lazy rivers and sunny green valleys all around them.  Episodes, which can also be seen on Disney Junior, include “Favorite Thing”, “Fly Away Home”, “Follow Me”, “I Promise”, “All Fall Down”, “New Friend” and “Leaf Shade”.

This sweet series would make a lovely gift. It will officially be released February 18, but it’s available to pre-order right now for $12.95.

I am also thrilled to be able to give three copies of Guess How Much I Love You: Friendship Adventures to three of you!

Would you like to win a copy of this DVD for your family? Here’s how to enter:

Required Entry:

To enter to win, just leave a comment below letting me what your favorite children’s movie is. That’s it!

Additional Optional Entries:

You can do each of the following things for an additional entry in the giveaway. You can only do each of these once, for a possible total of 5 entries.

Please leave a separate comment for each method of entry. If you only leave one comment then you only have one entry, as each comment is numbered and I randomly choose a number. Make sense?

This giveaway ends at midnight EST on Tuesday February 11. I will choose three winners on Wednesday February 12 using random.org and will contact them via email.

Thanks to Entertainment One for providing me with a copy of Guess How Much I Love You to review and three to give away. All opinions in this review are solely my own. Giveaway open to US readers only. Delivery of your prize will be coordinated by Entertainment One.
