Moneymaker on Listerine at CVS this week, plus possible free $5 through tomorrow

I got free Listerine at CVS yesterday, and you can too; you may also get $5 free, but you’ll have to do it today or tomorrow.

Here’s how:

Clip the $1/1 Listerine coupon from the 1/6 SS.

Download the FREE Ibotta app for your smartphone through my referral link here (not through the app store). If this is your first time using it you’ll also get a free $5 bonus after you’ve done this deal (by tomorrow at 3 p.m. EST)! (Not sure how Ibotta works? Read my post about it here.)

Find the Listerine deal in your Ibotta app, and do all the listed activities to add $1.25 in coupons for Listerine.

Head to CVS and scan your ExtraCare card at the Magic Coupon Machine. You should get a $2/1 Listerine store coupon, since CVS is advertising that they’re offering it to to everyone.

Purchase Listerine UltraClean 500 mL for $3.99, and use your $1/1 mfr coupon and  $2/1 store coupon. You’ll pay $0.99.

Then, upload your receipt to Ibotta (should be self-explanatory after you click on “redeem”) and you’ll receive $1.25 in your Ibotta account (plus $5 if it’s your first time using it!) That makes this deal a $1.26 moneymaker!

Blount County Library 2013 book sale schedule, plus upcoming sale next week

I have written many, many times about how much I love the Blount County Library‘s quarterly book sale. I do a large amount of my Christmas shopping at these sales, and this year, for Christmas morning, I made a “book path” that led from my daughters’ doorway to the Christmas tree in our living room. When they woke up on Christmas morning, they followed the path of new (new-to-them, anyway) books to the rest of their presents. It was so much fun, and I got all of those books really inexpensively at the library sale!

The winter sale will be January 17-19. The first day of every sale is only open to Friends of the Library members, but I highly recommend joining, not only because it’s a tax-deductible way to support our library, but also because the early sale is SO worth it. I ususally get there at 11:30 for the 12 p.m. opening time, and there’s always a big line at that point, so you might consider getting there earlier than me 🙂 You can join Friends of the Library at the door on the 17th.

Mark your calendar for the above dates. You will have so much fun at these sales!

Get $5 free using the Ibotta coupon app – expires Friday!

I had the privilege of speaking to the MOPS group at Beech Grove Baptist on Monday night, and one of the topics that came up was the Ibotta app. Here’s a little about that app, plus an opportunity (expiring Friday!) to receive $5 free!

If you follow coupon blogs, you’ve probably heard of Ibotta; if not, it’s simply a free app for your smartphone that allows you to take up to three actions to receive “coupon money” toward products you buy at the store. Once you’ve purchased the product at an approved retailer (and the list is long), just take a photo of your receipt and scan the barcode on the item and you’ll receive cash in your account. If you purchase the item on sale and use coupons, often you can add the Ibotta money to turn a deal into a freebie! Whenever you want to cash out,you can transfer your Ibotta money to Paypal.

Through this Friday January 11 at 3 p.m. EST, when you sign up for Ibotta through my referral link you will get $5 (FREE!) in your account when you successfully redeem your first offer.

You must sign up for the app by Friday at 3 p.m. Then make sure you redeem your first successful offer by Friday January 18th at 3 a.m. EST to receive your $5!

If you need an offer to get you started, here’s one at Walmart:

Clorox 2 Stain Fighter & Color Booster (33 fl. oz.) is $5.78
Use $1.50/1 Clorox 2 product printable coupon
Pay $4.28 out of pocket.
Submit a photo of your receipt on the Ibotta app to get a $1.50/1 Clorox2 Stain Fighter & Color Booster Ibotta credit.
Final price will be $2.78 after coupon and credit, and if this is the first offer that you’ve redeemed, it becomes more than a $2 moneymaker!

Thanks, Give Me Neither!
