Kroger trip 1/29/13: saved 88% (kind of) plus half off meat at The Market

January 29, 2013

I went to Kroger for the Mega Event today, and did pretty well! Most of my coupon matchups can be found on the Southern Savers coupon database. I checked out in two transactions: the first one with my items that would generate Catalinas that I turned around and used on my second transaction.

Transaction 1: spent $37.54 and saved $14.57 (29%)

Transaction 2: spend $7.59 and saved $41.96 (88%, includes 2 Catalinas from Transaction 1)

Part of the reason the first transaction was so high was because I bought 5 boxes of Crystal Light Energy with NO coupons 🙁 I am addicted to that stuff! But, because I bought 5 boxes I received a $5 Catalina. Buying 4 boxes of Capri Sun also generated a $3 Catalina and I used the B3GO coupon from the 1/6 SS.

Other deals: the Cocoa Crispies are in the clearance corner for $1.80 and my husband loves them. Also, I bought the BBQ sauce because they had peelies on them for $1/1 Kraft Shells & Cheese, and since they were only $0.49 each it made me $0.51 as I was planning on buying shells & cheese anyway. The Egg Beaters were free with the e-coupon Kroger released on 1/25 only, and the Liberte Greek yogurt had a $0.30/1 e-coupon on Kroger’s website (but they’re not part of the Mega Event sale). The Wheat Thins were $0.99 after I used this printable coupon.

So, that was fun! I will probably make one more trip to try to find the floss from the moneymaking deal I posted here (of course the shelves were cleared!)

If you’re heading to Kroger, make sure you look over the available printable coupons here first!

Oh, and after Kroger I headed to The Market in Maryville and bought the meat pictured. Total was $50 and I used my $50 Groupon (no longer available but there’s a different one here!) so I paid $0.27 OOP. Love that place!
