Coupons For The Apocalypse: Kind of hilarious

I received this email as a forward from Escalate Network, a marketing company that provides me with coupon info. I thought it was kind of hilarious. Enjoy!
Coupons For The Apocalypse
Fighting Zombies all day can be a real headache:
You’re gonna want something to do on those long cold nights:
Don’t forget the kiddos, they’re our only hope at repopulating the earth:
When your husband is out slaying the walking dead, he needs to smell good:
I hear blood stains are hard to get out of clothes:
And you certainly need to wash off the Zombie guts before dinner:
Snacks. Snacks. And More Snacks. Fighting Zombies is hard work!
Keep the putrid smell of Zombies out of your house (or what’s left of it):
Fido and Fluffy can defend the homestead while you’re scavenging for food:
Leaves and berries can be bland, sweeten them:

If you take to the seas to escape the Zombie herd, you’ll need this:

Doesn’t this stuff last forever?
Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate:
Where else are you going to store the food you scavenge?!
You do have one of those camp coffee makers right?
And last but not least, you gotta look and smell good in the new world!

Obvious Necessities:

C.S. Lewis’ Space Trilogy (Narnia for adults?) e-book offer: $1.99 each through 1/8

This is a first: I do not believe my husband has ever shared a deal with me specifically for this blog, but he did today! He sent me a link to this deal to share with you all: Through January 8 you can get the e-book versions (Kindle/Nook/Kobo) of C.S. Lewis’ Space Trilogy for $1.99 each. They’re calling this “Narnia for adults.” If you haven’t read these three books and you’re a Lewis fan, this might be a deal you’ll want to check out.

Thanks to my husband Ash for sharing!

Right now Amazon has the complete nine-book set of the Little House books by Laura Ingalls Wilder for $24, marked down from $63! That’s just $2.67 a book!

We are just starting this series with my girls, and I can’t wait, as it was one of my favorites when I was their age.

Printable coupons and deals on Huggies and Pampers: as low as $3.67 at CVS

There are a few new printable coupons available for Huggies and Pampers. We are out of the diapers stage in my family, but my youngest still wears pull-ups at night so I stocked up on the Huggies Slip-On diapers.

If you don’t need diapers, consider printing the coupons anyway and leaving them as a “Coupon Fairy” for another mom, OR, purchase the diapers and donate them to a mom in need via my friends at Diaper Love!

Here are the coupons and the CVS deal:

At CVS, spend $30.00 on Huggies or Pampers and receive $10.00 ExtraCare Bucks through 12/22.
Huggies and Pampers are $10/pack right now.
You can use any combination of the following coupons to purchase three packs of diapers and receive the $10 ECBs. The best deal would be to use two computers to print three $3 coupons for regular Huggies diapers, which would make it $3.67/pack. I used three of the $2/1 Slip-Ons coupons, paid $24 OOP and received $10 ECBs, making it $4.67 pack.
$2/1 – Huggies Little Movers Slip-On Diapers
$3/1 Huggies Diapers
$1.50/1 – Huggies Diapers
$2/1 Pampers Diapers
Thanks, Couponing to Disney!

Books my family reads about St. Nicholas/Santa Claus

I was at a MOPS meeting this morning where we were talking about Christmas traditions we have. One of my family’s favorite things is reading our HUGE collection of Christmas books. This year we’re working in the idea of St. Nicholas, the 4th Century saint who is the basis for our American idea of Santa Claus. Here are the three books we’re reading, all of which come highly recommended:

Santa, Are You for Real?, by Harold Myra

(Available on Amazon in the form of a board book; hardcover and paperback are sold out. I bought mine early in the season.)

The Legend of St. Nicholas: A Story of Christmas Giving, by Dandy Daley Mackall

The Secret of St. Nicholas, by Ellen Nibali

Here’s where I posted about purchasing this book at the Foothills Fall Festival. It’s also available on the author’s website or Amazon.

And, of course, the concept of St. Nicholas is covered in the Christmas edition of the brilliant What’s in the Bible series, called Why Do We Call It Christmas?

If you’re ordering from their site you can use code 30DECEMBER for 30% off $30 or more, plus free shipping.

If you have other great books or movies to recommend, I’d love to hear about them!
