Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil review and giveaway!

April 26, 2012

I love coconut oil. Not only does it taste amazing, but it has a myriad of health benefits. You can also use it as lotion or mix it with sugar for a great scrub. One of my favorite things is to use it as bath oil, which makes for very soft skin.

I was excited to try Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil this week. I was very impressed with their product, and I was also pleased to learn that Tropical Traditions is the only brand on the market that is not mass produced by machine – they prefer to have it produced by hand on small family farms.

I used this coconut oil to make my very favorite sandwich, which I’ve dubbed the “Candy Bar Sandwich.” While it’s not low in fat, it does provide some great health benefits!

Candy Bar Sandwich

Ingredients:

2 slices wheat bread

1 Tbsp. virgin Coconut Oil

1 Tbsp Nutella

Take bread and heat in microwave for 15 seconds. Spread Nutella on one slice of bread and coconut oil on the other. Put together as a sandwich and microwave for an additional 15 seconds or so, until coconut oil has melted. Eat and enjoy!

Right now Tropical Traditions has their pint-sized coconut oil on sale for $19.95, marked down from $25, and their quart-sized jars on sale for $29.50, marked down from $40! They also have their coconut oil hair treatment (like lotion for your hair) on sale for $9.99 (regularly $25)!

Tropical Traditions is giving one Thrifty Christy reader a 32-oz jar of their Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil! Here’s how to enter to win:

Required Entry:

Sign up for the Tropical Traditions email newsletter for early notice of their deals and specials. Then leave a comment below letting me know you’ve done so! That’s it! If you’re reading this on Facebook/Twitter hop on over to thriftychristy.com.

Additional Optional Entries:

You can do each of the following things for an additional entry in the giveaway. You can only do each of these once, for a possible total of 8 entries. Please leave a separate comment for each method of entry.

This giveaway ends at midnight EST on Thursday May 10. I will choose a winner on Friday May 11 using random.org and will contact them via email. Giveaway will be fulfilled by Tropical Traditions and is open to U.S. and Canadian residents only.

Also, if you place an order from Tropical Traditions by clicking on any of my links above and have never ordered from Tropical Traditions in the past, you will receive a free book on Virgin Coconut Oil, and I will receive a discount coupon for referring you. I received the book with my first order and it’s very interesting!

We use coconut oil fairly frequently for cooking. Our daughter is allergic to so many things, but she can have coconut milk, oil, yogurt, etc.

I bought coconut oil a few years ago to help clear up my son’s thrush. It’s a great natural option!

Coconut oil is a staple in our house! We cook with it, bake with it, oil pull with it, etc.
