20% off everything at Big Lots today

20120127-151043.jpg
Today is one of the periodic 20% off days at Big Lots. I believe everything in the store is discounted, and you won’t need a coupon but you must have a frequent shopper card (called a Buzz Club card). If you don’t have one you can sin up for free in the store or online.

Thanks to the ladies of No Strings Attached at Springview Baptist!

Thank you to the No Strings Attached group at Springview Baptist Church for having me speak about couponing at their meeting last night! I enjoyed getting to meet everyone!

Also, a huge thanks to them for giving a donation to my friend Hannah Sterling (who’s a missionary in Haiti at the orphanage called God’s Planet). Thank you for contributing to the fantastic work she’s doing there!

Just a reminder that you can all follow Hannah’s work on her blog, Where He Leads, and if you’re feeling moved to give to support her work in Haiti you can send checks attention to her at the following address to be deposited in a bank stateside that she can access in Haiti.

She’s at:

Hannah Sterling

P.O. Box 4878

Maryville, TN 37802

Or if you would like to receive a tax-deductible receipt from God’s Planet, you can send your donation through them (make sure to put her name in the memo line) to:
God’s Planet
P.O. Box 235
Rockford, TN, 37853

You can also support her missionary work by purchasing her jewelry at The Paper Bag Boutique.

Photo mug for Valentines Day $2 plus shipping

Ink Garden has a Valentine’s Deal that I really like: you can get a photo mug for just $2 (plus shipping) when you enter code MUG2 at checkout. They’re normally $9. I happen to personally really like photo mugs, and gave a few of them for Christmas present. There are a number of designs but the one above is my favorite. And $2 is about what I have budgeted for presents for valentine’s Day 🙂

Just FYI, we celebrate Valentine’s Day on Feb 15 when everything is on clearance. Being frugal is romantic in my house.

Half off a ride on a Chattanooga Duck Boat: highly recommended!

Here’s a fun daily deal that I’ve purchased in the past and really enjoyed: you can get half off a tour on a Chattanooga Duck Boat, today only. Regular admission is $20 for adults and $10 for kids ages 3 – 13. (3 and under is $1, so don’t get a voucher for kids under three.) These vehicles are half truck and half boat, so your tour starts and ends on land, but the middle part takes place on the river. My girls absolutely loved this experience, so I’m getting vouchers to do it again this summer. The Living Social vouchers expire June 30, so they would be great for an early summer vacation! We’re planning to head to Chattanooga on a Saturday as soon as it warms up.

PS – Spring for the duck-quacking-kazoo things when you get there. My girls are still loving theirs a year later. Although I’m pretty sure my husband doesn’t love them, as they’re loud 🙂

Discount on annual membership in Walgreens’ Prescription Savings Club

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

If you are a member of the Express Scripts prescription drug benefit plan, you’ve probably been seeing a lot of signs and advertisements with your plan’s name on them. Have you been wondering what that’s all about? If you are used to filling your prescriptions at Walgreens, you have probably seen that as of the start of 2012 you won’t be able to use your Express Scripts benefits there. Walgreens and Express Scripts have not reached a contract agreement with each other, and as a result, Walgreens will no longer be part of the pharmacy provider network for Express Scripts.

Because obviously Walgreens wants to keep your business, they are trying to alleviate financial difficulty for customers by offering a special discount for the Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens. Anyone can join! Here’s how it works:

A family (which includes and adult, spouse and any children under age 22, as well as pets!) can join for just $10/year and will get access to discount pricing on more than 8,000 brand name and generic prescriptions. Individuals are able to join for just $5/year. In addition to receiving discounts on prescriptions, members will receive discounts on flu shots, pet prescriptions, nebulizers and diabetic supplies. You can also get bonuses when you purchase Walgreens brand products and photofinishing services.

If you’d like to stay up-to-date on offers from Walgreens, be sure to follow Walgreens on Twitter and like Walgreens on Facebook.
