Giveaway: win a set of five passes to Disney on Ice coming November 2-6! Four winners!

Disney on Ice: 100 Years of Magic is coming November 2-6 to the Knoxville Civic Coliseum, and the lovely folks at Feld Entertainment have given me four sets of five passes each to give away to you! I’m so excited, and can’t wait to take my girls to see this show. This will be our first experience with Disney on Ice! These passes can be exchanged for tickets at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum box office, and are good for all reserved seating tickets except for front row and VIP tickets. You’ll want to redeem passes as early as possible to get the best seats, which is why I’m doing this giveaway so early!

If you’d like to go ahead and order tickets without waiting on a giveaway, you can visit KnoxvilleTickets.com and use the discount code PAK5 for $5 off the $24 and $17  tickets (valid for all Thurs – Sun performances.)

Here’s how to win one of the four sets of passes:

Required Entry:

Leave a comment on this post and let me know if you’ve ever been to Disney on Ice. That’s it! (If you’re reading this on Facebook/Twitter hop on over to thriftychristy.com)

Additional Optional Entries:

You can do each of the following things for an additional entry in the giveaway. You can only do each of these once, for a possible total of 6 entries. Please leave a separate comment for each method of entry.

This giveaway ends at midnight EST on Wednesday October 5. I will choose FOUR winners on Thursday October 6 using random.org and will contact them via email. Giveaway open to US readers only.

I received four passes to Disney on Ice plus an additional 20 passes from Feld Entertainment to share with my readers. All opinions are my own.

Updates to the banking industry: review your accounts to avoid being charged fees

Changes to the banking industry may mean new fees in your future. I’d suggest that if you haven’t already, that you review your bank’s current account requirements. I have two accounts at a major bank, and have always just used the second account for savings. However, I received a letter in the mail last week telling me that all accounts are going to be charged fees if they don’t maintain certain minimum balances and if they don’t have a direct deposit of a certain amount. My primary checking meets these requirements, but my second account doesn’t, and it was going to cost me $18/month! Needless to say, I closed it.

Make sure your accounts aren’t going to incur fees when these changes take place next month. Oh, and if you want to avoid fees altogether, I’m told that credit unions aren’t going to be required to make these changes, so accounts there will still be fee free. I don’t have any credit union accounts, so if you do and want to share any thoughts please feel free!

The new Facebook: how to keep receiving updates you want, or to unsubscribe from those that don’t interest you

If Thrifty Christy, Blount Moms Today, or any of your other favorite Facebook pages have fallen out of your news feed, then here is how to get them back.

Thanks to Kathryn at Real Housewives Clip Coupons for the photos and info!

If posts from your favorite blogs are NOT showing up in your “Top News Stories” then find a post from the page you want. In the upper right of that post is a little drop down arrow. Click on that and the following drop down menu comes up.  You will want to mark it as a top story.

Now, if you have a person/blog in your Top Stories whose updates Facebook thinks you want to see, but really, you’d rather not…then you can fix that too.  You will click on the same little arrow and the following drop down will appear.   You can “Unsubscribe” from someone or set it to see less from that person (or more).

Thanks, Real Housewives Clip Coupons
