CVS trip 5/28/11 plus why to save your coupons for free items

May 28, 2011

Above are the things I picked up at CVS today, plus another bottle of Reservatrol and a pack of gum. I spent $0.60 OOP (before tax and after using the ECBs I had on hand) for about $28 worth of merchandise. The purpose of this trip was to use the $5/25 coupon that CVS sent me via email.

Here’s a tip: whenever I receive coupons in the mail for free items I save them to use with a coupon like the one CVS sent me. They’re the only ones that have sent me coupons like that recently, but this would apply to any coupon that has a minimum purchase requirement. I bought the items for which I had “free” coupons in order to use them to get my total purchase to the amount I needed. I handed over the $5/$25 coupon first, then the coupons for the free Zyrtec (which cost $6.50!), Cottonelle wipes, and Glade candle, all of which I had received in the mail. The Green Bag Tags and Crystal Light were free with coupons I received from the Magic Coupon Machine today, and I received the coupon for the free magnesium by email as I’ve somehow gotten on the CVS diabetes patients email list, even though I don’t have diabetes. All of those products got my total high enough to use the CVS coupon, and the $5 from that covered the 2 bottles of Reservatrol (which were half price. You know I love my vitamins.)

Make sense?

I have two Green Bag Tags because my MIL gave me hers. I’m going to give them away at the Maryville Moms Coupon Class.

Here’s how to get the free Zyrtec.

I have another Green Bag Tag that you can give away if you want (I got the same coupon). I’ve been trying to figure out who I could give it to. Could I just drop it by your house sometime?

Sure, that would be great! I’ll be glad to pass it along. Do you have my address? If not message me on FB and I’ll get it to you. Thanks Lynette!

I think I have your address in some old MOPS stuff. I’ll try to drop it by tonight on the way to swim lessons–if no one is home I’ll stick it in the door somewhere. We have plans on 6/18 or I would be at your class myself!
