Disney Movie Rewards: what it is and why you should join for free

April 1, 2011

I know that by now many of you have bought Tangled on DVD or Blu-ray. I reminded a friend who had just bought her copy to enter her Disney Movie Rewards code, and was surprised when she asked me what DMR was. Since she didn’t know, I assume many of you may not, so here’s a quick explanation.

When you buy a Disney DVD (or CD or other product) there will be a piece of paper inside with an 11-digit code on it. You enter this code on the Disney Movie Rewards website to accumulate points which you can exchange for some pretty great items. First, you must have a Disney Movie Rewards account, though. It’s free to sign up, and by doing so you’ll also be able to periodically print coupons or enter sweepstakes. Go here to get an account.

The next step is to enter your codes. The code from Tangled looks like the one above (I’ve already entered that code from my DVD so don’t enter it into your account. It won’t work.) Go around your house and look inside your Disney DVDs. You may find other codes you’ve been over looking! Also periodically there are bonus codes available, and Jenny at Southern Savers does a pretty good job of sharing those as soon as they’re available.

Finally, look through prizes available on DMR. You can add the ones you like best to your Wish List so you know how many points to shoot for.

Any questions? Happy code hunting!
