CVS tip: the Magic Coupon Machine plus multiple card scans

March 29, 2011

Here’s a tip for shopping at CVS that some of you all might not know. When you walk in the store you’re going to want to look for what I call the Magic Coupon Machine. It looks like the one above, and you probably thought it was just a price-checking machine. Not so! When you scan your CVS card at the Magic Coupon Machine it will print out store coupons for you, and some are very high in value. Notice that I said “store” coupons. You know what that means, right? You can combine them with manufacturer coupons on the same items! I have gotten some ridiculous deals this way.

Something that even veteran CVS shoppers may not know is that can scan your card more than once and usually the machine will print even more coupons for you! I’ve scanned my card up to 4 times and still gotten coupons. How do you know when to stop? When the screen on the machine gives you the message below, it’s done with you for the day.
