I had an amazing time at the Knoxville Coupon Fair this morning! Two gals stopped by my booth to let me know about a Coupon Exchange Club that’s starting in Maryville on March 8. Michele and Jana, it was so great to meet you, and I’m so glad you passed this into along!

Here’s everything you need to know:

Consigning a LOT of items? Get your tags at Staples.

Are you planning on consigning a lot of items in one or more sales? Often the sales offer extra tags for an additional cost. However, if you’re consigning in one of the sales that uses the above tags, you can get a box of 1000 at Staples for $9.79. You can use these for lots of future sales! Order online, and go through Shop at Home to get 3% back on your order!
Sales that I know use these tags:
East Maryville Baptist
First Baptist Maryville
Fairview UMC
Maryville Christian School

Sunday Coupon Preview for 2/27/11

Here’s this week’s Sunday coupon preview. Remember that the number and type of coupons may vary depending on which paper you get. You should be receiving two inserts: a P&G and a Smart Source. There will be Huggies & Pampers coupons, as well as the $4 Gillette razor coupon that we’ve all come to know and love. There will also be a coupon for Activia Parfait Crunch, and if the fine print says “or any other Activia yogurt” (which it sometimes does) I’ll be using that as well.

Tonight is Last Friday Art Walk. Come see Casablanca on the big screen.

Just a reminder that tonight is Last Friday Art Walk in downtown Maryville. You can find a list of all the events and artists in the Blount Today.

Also, the Palace Theater is showing Casablanca at 7 p.m. I think admission is $5. Some classic movies don’t live up to the hype, but Casablanca is not one of them. It’s in my top ten list. If you haven’t seen it, this is a great chance.

What an awesome evening. I love this town!

My dear friend Catalina

Do you know what a Catalina is? They’re the coupons that print out at the register when you make a purchase, like the one pictured above, and the company that creates them is called Catalina Marketing.

So recently I went to Kmart for a Catalina promotion they were having. I hardly ever go to Kmart, but this was a deal that was too good to pass up, because I was supposed to receive a Catalina at checkout that would make all of my purchases free. You can imagine my annoyance when nothing printed for me, and no one who worked there knew about the promotion. When I got home I decided to call the Catalina company to see if they could help. I talked to a really friendly employee who took down information from my receipt and said he’d be in touch. I never heard back, but yesterday I received a letter from them in the mail along with the Catalina I was supposed to have received! All’s well that ends well.

Catalina’s number is 1-888-8COUPON.

For more info, check out this post on Couponing to Disney called How Catalinas Work.

My personal experience with American Laser Centers and a contest they’re offering

I just received an email that American Laser Centers is still having its monthly giveaway of gift certificates for free hair removal and other services. First prize is $3000 worth of hair removal, and second prize is $1500. I have entered this before, and wanted to let you know it’s legit. A few years ago I got a call that I had won third prize, which was $500 to spend at American Laser Centers, so I decided to check it out. Now, you’re thinking, “sure, It’s one of those gimmicks where everyone wins third prize.” Well, it’s not. I have entered many times before and after winning, and this is the only time I’ve won. Please note, though, that if you do enter you’re guaranteed about three follow-up calls. I just let the machine get them, honestly.

Now to my experience with Knoxville’s American Laser Centers.

When learned I’d won $500 to spend, of course my first response was, what will $500 get me? Here’s the answer: not hair removal. I am still regretting that I didn’t use the $500 credit toward some sort of permanent hair removal, but wanting to spend as little as possible I opted for $500 worth of microdermabrasion instead. For those who aren’t familiar with that process, it’s basically a deep cleaning of your pores. It really made my skin look nice, and was even kind of relaxing. I wouldn’t have paid $500 for it, but for free…well, it was great.

So there you go. If that at all interests you, then enter. Know that they’ll call you. Which is not always a bad thing. It is what it is.

Do you have any experiences there? If so let me know!
